THE WORD HOUSE · PUBLISHED EDITION · SOFTNESS WAS NEVER SURRENDER

A Small Psalm for Soft Edges Holding

Founder accepted by Kavonte Jones Sr. · August 23, 2026

SCENE ONE: a garden bench beyond the gate.

IN FRAME: a note that says no in full.

VOICE: the Tender Witness.

No camera earns a private life.

REFRAIN

“A Small Psalm for Soft Edges Holding” is a working title,

not a release claim,

not a key to protected canon.

SCENE TWO

The room admits that love wants access faster than trust can grow.

A pause follows.

Nothing in the pause

is translated on somebody else’s behalf.

REFRAIN

Rest is not an apology for being alive.

The line stays human-sized.

The line leaves room

for another person to disagree.

FINAL SCENE

The speaker begins to say no without decorating the sentence.

No applause enters.

No instant repair arrives.

HOLD

Work gloves rest beside one living stem.

Cut on ordinary light.

Keep the boundary in the credits.
